Writing Pals

Sharing your writing with a “Writing Pal” gives you an opportunity to try
out your stories in a safe environment. Your writing Pal should be someone you
trust and will listen to when they give you feedback.

When sharing with your writing buddy, keep these things in mind:

1) Use a quiet speaking voice.

2) Budget your time so both people have an opportunity to share.

3) Decide at the beginning of your meeting time what it is you both want to
get accomplished during this time.

4) Spend some of your time giving each other honest feedback. Feedback
should usually be connected to a skill or strategy we have talked about and/or
practiced in class!
